Flora Alba Cottage was built with passion and love by owner Maureen McAdam, helped by her partner Bill and a few willing friends! The story of how they found the cottage, renovated it to match a picture in Maureen's mind and opened on the first day to a bagpipe fanfare, is a story best told by Maureen. Needless to say, Flora Alba is a wonderful achievement and guests are blessed to share the experience.

Nestled in a peaceful garden, the cottage is light and bright, with french doors that open from the bedroom and living area to the sunny verandah overlooking the pool. The cottage has a fully equipped kitchen and a warm timber toned ensuite.

Silky Oak is evident throughout the house and the cottage generally is a tribute to Maureen's love for timber in all its forms. Traditional country style furnishings complete the decor. Take a walk in the lush tropical gardens and enjoy glimpses of the local native birds and butterflies.

As a Heritage Town, Maryborough is rich in architectural attractions, not to mention streets of Queenslanders of quite exceptional quality. Hervey Bay, with access to seasonal whale watching and magnificant Fraser Island, is just a 30 minute drive from Flora Alba Cottage. Maureen can advise guests on the best tours, sights and restaurants in the Maryborough/Hervey Bay region. A few days at Flora Alba is indeed, a tonic for the soul.

Location - 255km or 3¼ hours north of Brisbane. The cottage is within easy walking distance to the Maryborough Sports Club.
